Looking a little closer...a photo a day.
Every day I set myself a little task of taking just one photo a day. This sounds like an easy thing to do...just one photo, but of what? Sometimes it’s just there asking for it to be captured and saved as a memory forever, but other days it’s just not so obvious.
The idea behind a photo a day is that it’s making me look at my everyday surroundings a little differently, it creates new opportunities as they occur.
Sometimes it’s easy, I automatically grab my phone and say wow, I must take a picture of that. You know the times, a stunning sunset filling the sky with more colours than you could ever imagine. A family member’s birthday, celebrating with a piece of your favourite cake. The sun glistening on the sea. But if you look a little closer you can find those moments in lots of things that are just there but perhaps not so obvious.
Taking time out to reflect on where you are and what you have achieved over the last few months, can allow you to reconnect with all the positive elements that surround you. It wasn't until I started taking a photo a day that I started to notice amazing things that are happening around me all the time. The changing colour of the leaves on the trees, a gecko with no tail, the tiniest grasshopper that I had ever seen, no bigger than my little finger nail and if you know me, you know that's super small.
I began to see new colours, the different ways light can fall on objects, textures of paint that have aged in the sun over the years, flowers that open during the day and then close again at night....there are so many beautiful and amazing things right under our noses that deserve to be captured and saved in our memories as a photo a day.
You will be amazed at what you can find
